ABOUT PARENTS AND FRIENDS
Since 1976, Parents and Friends, Inc. (PAF) has served adults with developmental disabilities. In the year 2000, we expanded our mission to include services specifically for our community’s senior citizens. Our mission, in short, is to promote and protect the independence of the disabled and the elderly. Through an array of services, including small group homes, semi-independent and independent living programs and personal assistance, PAF maintains quality residential and life management services best suited to each consumer’s adaptive and functional needs.
We all share the same spirit, LIKE A BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY, EMERGING FROM A COCOON.
At PAF, we see that spirit in everyone seeking unique expression. Our philosophy says persons who are developmentally disabled or elderly can come to a greater understanding of themselves, others and life by living in society. By providing an environment that promotes personal dignity, and an opportunity for physical, intellectual, social and emotional development, our clients can express this spirit to the best of their abilities.
In the warm loving community life found in all PAF activities, from residential home to transportation services, we seek to engender self-worth and caring. We hope that society can look beyond disabilities and infirmities and see everyone’s true spirit.
To promote personal development and independence and protect the disabled and elderly.
We all have disabilities in one sense or another and we need the help of others in our community to live our lives. We don’t ask for or expect perfection from one another, merely a common understanding and respect.
